This is NOT A LARGE, OLD FASHIONED style picnic basket: works great for a small meal or snacks =D
The wicker basket is attractive and made well. Please note: This is NOT your Granny’s old fashioned LARGE picnic basket. It is possibly half the size of the old fashioned picnic basket that our family used. This smaller basket can hold a small meal for two people or quite a few snacks for a small family. It will NOT hold a full size bottle of wine or taller water bottles. The lining is fabric so any food leaks can stain the interior. If you are sitting it on the ground, it is not bug proof, so ants and other crawlers can easily get inside.This is a cute picnic basket, it does work as stated but it is NOT anything like a picnic cooler. The ground picnic cloth included is OK but not heavy duty. I think it works much better as a table cloth on a picnic table. I gave this 4 stars because it does work but the size has it limitations.

Going on a Picnic
The reason I am rating a three and a half is not because the basket isnt good so let me explain. The basket is good quality and has a cute lil picnic blanket inside. I thought this would be a bigger basket like my old one but the size was disappointing. Now will I work it, absolutely!

Not What I’d Consider “Extra Big Capacity”
I am definitely not an expert on baskets, picnic or otherwise. So, basket enthusiasts (my sister is one 😉) may wish to check out other reviews.Admittedly, I am terrible at estimating size (and time, distance, height, age, weight, etc. 😬). For some reason, my brain just doesn’t work that way. Because of this, the 15.4” mentioned in the item’s name meant absolutely nothing to me. I was solely focused on the words, “Extra Big Capacity.”So, I was very disappointed whenever it arrived, and I found it wasn’t even large enough for a 16.9 oz water bottle to stand upright with the lid closed. 😔 As another testament to its size limitations – if you store the picnic blanket (that comes with it) inside of it, you really don’t have much room for anything else.The picnic basket is cute, and it seems like it’s built well enough to last for a while. However, I just can’t get past the size issue. While I concede I probably should have whipped out a measuring tape to see how large 15.4” really is, I still feel I was led astray by “Extra Big Capacity.” Since most people will know what to expect when they read 15.4,” I’ll give this product 4 stars. If you are expecting a small-ish basket, then I’m sure you’ll be very happy with it. 😊
