Cute, fun, enjoyable & quick game
Our family (3 kids ages 8, 6 & 4) love this game! It is easy to learn, fun, competitive in a nice way and doesn’t take hours to complete. Our 4yr old was gifted the game & the whole family was able to sit down & play right away (sharing one of the caterpillars as we had 5 people, but it only has 4 caterpillar pieces). While the 4yr old definitely enjoyed playing, I felt our 6yr old seemed to enjoy it the most. The butterfly pieces are straight from Eric Carle’s artwork and the little caterpillar game pieces are cute. Everything stores nicely in the box. However you may want to use a sandwich bag for the pieces once you’ve opened the game so as not to lose any. We enjoyed this so much we gifted it to another 4yr old for her birthday.

    Super cute!
It’s a great games for little ones, and well worth the price! My 4 year old loves The Hungry Caterpillar app on his tablet. The game is beautifully illustrated. It is really simple. Intellectually, maybe to simple. My son has issues with paying attention and taking turns, so that works for us. The biggest plus with the game is that the butterflies are legit, well-made puzzle pieces. After a few rounds, my son was over it. I had the idea of putting away the board and caterpillar pieces. I just left out the butterfly pieces, but scattered them over our coffee table. My son had a blast matching the properly colored pieces together. The game may be simplistic, but you get 4 5-piece puzzles in it. Totally worth it!

    Well made and engaging
This is our new favorite game! I got this for my son’s Easter basket.he is 2.5 years old and actually stays engaged long enough to get through it. even his 7 year old cousin likes playing along. We have taken to playing it on the porch and he sets it up almost daily now. I have since bought 2 as gifts. Very well made. The little puzzle ads a fun extra part to other similar board games;Kids love making their butterfly. Beautiful game and great price! A must for any Eric carle fans or toddler parent. Teaches numbers, colors, fruit, logic, and more!

Good game but not for threes
You pick a card (check), it tells you how many spaces you can go (check), you pick up a puzzle piece (check), and then you put a butterfly puzzle together (huh?). For my 3.5 year old granddaughter, it was too many steps, especially since each puzzle, made up of 5 pieces, was a different color combination. It’s pretty straightforward up till then, but I think the preschool mind just fries out on too many steps. Otherwise, it’s colorful, and the kids love the little caterpillar game pieces.

    Great Introduction to Board Games
My toddler likes The Very Hungry Caterpillar and I thought this would be a perfect compliment to the story. The game is very easy to play for my 3-yr-old. It works with numbers, dexterity (puzzle pieces) and even colors to some extent. It’s a great starter game for young kids to learn rules and directions. It moves quickly so they don’t loose interest and I actually found myself enjoying the game as well. I highly recommend for older toddlers/young preschool aged children.

Perfect game for young and old
This game is absolutely adorable and my 2 and 4 year old boys love to play it. We’ve had multiple family game nights since Christmas and this is always the game requested now. It’s helping the 4 year old with his patience and reasoning skills, and the 2 year old with recognizing numbers and counting. I don’t think they could manage the full game on their own yet, so we have always played with them.

I bought this for my four year old niece as a Christmas present. I have always loved The Very Hungry Caterpillar since I was a child & now buy Very Hungry Caterpillar products for my nieces & nephew. I found this & thought it would be fun for my older niece. When it arrived, it was even better than I’d expected. It’s fun, educational & will help to further develop her blossoming maths skills. It will also help to continue to develop her manual dexterity. Best of all, she’ll have heaps of fun playing this game with good quality, colourful game board, puzzle & game pieces. This will bring her hours of entertainment. I’ll definitely be buying this for my younger niece & nephew when they’re old enough.
