    Could be better quality
It cuts, yet is very flimsy. Poor quality.

  2. Amazon Customer

    Not functional for cutting mats.
This may cutter could not cut the mat for my framing project. The blade essentially tore and mashed the mat where the cut was to be made.I switched to a razor blade and straight metal ruler for much better results.Sorry, I hate leaving negative reviews, but this mat cutter has been resigned to the box cutter drawer, will have t work for that? We’ll see

    Takes Lots of Practice
I bought this little hand gadget to cut foam boards for my architectural model and dollhouse builds I just recently got back into crafting. Thicker foam boards are difficult to cut without beveling using standard cutting tools. I was quite disappointed in this tool for I expected better results. Well I ended up ruining 2 pieces of foam board trying cut them with this. It does cut but still gives the same results I was dealing with before, it bevels or curves on you very easily. And the little clip on guiding tool for trying to bevel cut will not switch to both sides but just one side and it doe snot float over the surface of the board when trying to cut a piece in half. I guess you get what you pay for. It could be used well with lots of practice if you have time but it would just be a lot to purchase a more expensive tool.

    Don’t buy!!!
Terrible, wont cut straight even with a ruler & comes with NO instructions. Do not buy, it’s a waste of money.

  5. L T

    Cutter
100% would not recommend. Real flimsy and the blade moves around causing weird cuts.

  6. Bonnie Moses

go to a professional for matting!
    difficult to use

  7. Edwin

    Flimsy
    No instructions, cheap plastic

  8. A. Goebel

Basically just a razor blade holder
This cutter is not as good as I was hoping. It doesn’t come with any instructions. While you can use it without instructions, having instructions would have been nice so we’d know how to use some of the features. It does cut pretty well. Although, it cuts as straight as a box cutter would. It also come with two blades attached, I have no idea why.

This Zjyufy Mat Board Cutter Tool is not at all one I would use to cut my mats. It is a cheap plastic and flimsy design. It is not sturdy or precise – as it needs to be for cutting mats. It may be okay for simple craft cutting and the double blade could be handy, but I cannot recommend it for cutting mats.

This is in no way a mat board cutter. Mine had enough globby plastic from bad casting processes to prevent the guide from snapping into the cutter body, I cleaned it up with a needle file, but it will still require some double sided tape to hold it securely in place so that the angle stays consistent. The spacing between the blades and the distance from the guide edge leads me to believe that this was actually designed to cut foamcore – and it actually manages that pretty well. I have a proper all-steel mat cutter, I won’t be using this one for mats. But there are applications where this will be handy for cutting foamcore, corrugated cardboard, or EVA craft foam with a straight edge, so I am glad I have it for that.
