A great fun wooden puzzle thats very versatile. Educational as well as loads of fun.
Okay, back in the 80s, I used to play competitive Tetris… I was actually VERY good. Now as a much older man, I am still pretty good. And I have a kid who loves puzzles, blocks, block boards, and brain teasers. SO of course he loves this thing. And wife and I can drop down random pieces. We literally have hours of fun with this thing. It is pretty good quality, well made. My toddler hasnt hurt it yet. Now, you might have noticed I said toddler. Yes, my toddler loves this thing. Wife and I are smart, kid is smart. He already reads Dr Seuss on his own and wont be three for several months. He likes to play Tetris on a tablet or computer. So the age range of 3-6 is pretty accurate. But you know your kids. It may frustrate some who just want to play with the pretty blocks. And thats okay, not every kid is the same as others and some have better spacial awareness or whatever. My kid can spell and read, do basic math, but couldnt build a block tower until a few months ago. However your kid wants to play with it, this thing works on several levels. It has a great color variety, and it is fun to have them pick all the red ones out, or purple ect… Have them count all the yellow ones. This really is a great toy. And with all that you can do with this, it is a great value for the money. For our kid and his play table, this is a perfect size.. I would definitely recommend this wooden stacking puzzle.

    Cool manipulative toy. Iffy quality
If you take the concept of the video game Tetris but make it a manipulate block toy that is easy enough for a 3 year old but still fun for a 10 year old, that’s what this is. It’s half game, half puzzle. The version I ordered does not have the slots. It’s just the flat slope. I do like that it allows the pieces to be placed anywhere & kids can move the piece left to right if they put it in a spot where it doesn’t fit. That aspect is probably better for youger kids, but the slots would also serve an educational purpose (fine motor & having to predict in advance how the piece will fit as it slides down more like the original Tetris). There is a little slot/sleeve on the side where you put pieces and have to take the random piece that is at the bottom that makes this one a little more challenging. My issue with that part of the product is the sleeve area is only big enough to hold half the pieces. As far as the quality of the product it’s just OK. The blocks themselves are great quality. They’re solid, cut well, smooth and brightly painted. The issue is more with the stand. The construction isn’t very sturdy and the wood is very light and thin. It’s unlikely this would survive being stepped on. It also lacks a clear coat or some sort of finish. They only put a clear coat over the painted parts so the rest is just rough bare wood. It’s smooth enough where splinters aren’t an issue out of the box but it will start to develop rougher patches with splinters as its played with. I used a spray clear coat on ours to protect the wood (you can buy a can for $5-10. It’s handy to have around the house for fixing wood toys). It’s such a simple thing. I don’t know why they didn’t add it because having the clear coat on it strengthens the wood a bit and it made the blocks slide on the board a lot smoother.Overall it is a very fun toy. We’ve had this for a few weeks now and it is still played with daily in some capacity. My son is five & he plays with it in a variety of ways. He uses the shapes just as regular blocks, he uses them to build shapes on the sloped platform, and as intended to try and get the board as filled in as possible before he runs out of usable shapes. So it is a very versatile engaging and educational toy. That aspect deserves 5 stars and makes this worth considering. Just keep some wood glue handy and factor in that the wood board may need some maintenence if it’s not taken care of.

    Quality wooden version of Tetris!
Enjoy Tetris? Now you can play without a screen and enjoy using the pieces you want, when you want them! This is a well made, high quality Tetris board that can be used a variety of ways. There are several cards the show shapes kids can create by stacking the pieces. It’s not terribly difficult – other than figuring out which channel to slide the pieces down. (I will note, there are a few cards with ’empty’ centers – took us a few minutes to realize they weren’t suggesting a white piece that didn’t exist – using a texture or other color would have been helpful to show those empty spots. My kids – 12 and 10 – enjoy playing with this puzzle. The best ‘puzzle’ is to figure out how to put them all back so the box can close! (See picture in review if ever needed!) I think it is best suited for 1st to 3rd graders. The colors are beautiful and the wooden shapes are a good thickness for kids hands to grasp and play with. It’s a good overall size – not too big, not too small. Enough room for 2 kids to play together, but would be difficult for more than 2 kids.

Great colorful toy that will bring a lot of fun
This is a very well made wooden toy. The quality is superior and its completely splint free. The colors are bright and pleasing to the eye.If you used to play Tetris before, this is your opportunity to repeat that experience, but with real pieces, while also teaching your kid a thing or two about shapes, sizes, rotations, and the game itself in general. The shape and size are well chosen, and will be very suitable for the target age group (3-6 years). However, some of the product images can be a bit misleading. It doesn’t really come with any instructions, but it’s easy to be creative and find many ways to have lots of endless fun.And at $14.98 at the time of this review this is an excellent deal.
