Set planks with one or two strikes without a flooring mallet. The Striker XXL Tapping Block from The Bullet by MARSHALLTOWN is the faster, safer, and less finger-crushing way to install click-together flooring.
Sometimes modern flooring requires three hands — not anymore. The Striker has a solid, ergonomic handle that allows you to swing the tapping block while holding your board in place without a floor mallet.
This installer-designed tapping block has optimum balance and the ideal weight for striking click-together planks into place at an angle. Use the weight of the tool to strike tongue-and-groove planks into place at any angle. Tall enough to drive click-together flooring when it is tilted to the angle at which you need to strike it.
Proudly manufactured in the USA with global materials, the extra-long Striker is made from durable, high-quality HDPE and a smooth hardwood handle for an easy grip.

It seems expensive but it’s totally worth it
I bought this based on all of the reviews I work with a general contractor and do quite a bit of laminate and vinyl flooring. I came across this tool when looking for a larger tapping block because it seemed like a good idea to have more surface area to avoid cracking the edge of a panel. This tool is in a league of its own it has plenty of service area and doesn’t even utilize a lip on the edge you actually strike the tongue but since you’re striking so much area at once no damage is caused and It allows you to completely set and lock into place each piece one at a time Rather than trying to lift a row to get them to seat and lock into place properly. I’ve only used it on laminate Pergo which can be a nightmare to lock into place and I am able to strike the edge as hard as I want and I mean really hard for stubborn pieces in stubborn spots and it works great with no damage. I installed for rooms so far with this tool and have not damaged one piece and I haven’t even had to use my mallet for anything but the last row. This thing is great I recommend this for professional installers I also recommend this for anybody who’s planning on doing their own installation this thing will save you time it’ll save you money it really is awesome. The only downside that I have so far is that I’ve smacked my finger twice and it freaking hurt a lot and I mean a lot a lot. I’ve never smacked myself with a hammer or pinched my finger with a normal block so it just takes a little getting used to but because it’s so big you’ve got to be careful where your fingers are. No fault to the tool and I’ve had no other issues. Even if you only have a Gap of four or 5 inches for your last piece this thing is heavy enough to tap your piece into place With ease which is awesome because sometimes you can’t even get a hammer between a wall and your floor and this thing can sneak in there. Also if you have to tap down on a plank testing does it even better than a rubber mallet or a plastic hammer ever could. So pick this tool up and go get yourself some of the big stand up spacers and get to work.

Much more efficient than a mallet and block.
Only ties up one hand, making it much faster to set planks than using a mallet and block.Definitely worth the increased cost when you consider the time and effort saved. It has plenty of mass to do the job, and the impact area is greater than a block that you hit with a mallet.Check out YouTube videos, you will see why the pros use this type of tool.I am 800 square feet into a 2000 square foot job, and I am very glad I went this route.Watch your fingers! It will hurt just like a hammer if one gets between the block and the plank.Quality is excellent.

Great Product!
I don’t normally write reviews but I was skeptical of purchasing this product because of the price and wanted to help anyone else that may feel the same way. I had laid some flooring before and just used a standard tapping block or a scrap piece of flooring and a rubber mallet. I’m in the middle of a full house remodel right now and decided I was going to lay the LVP flooring myself. If you were only doing a small room or closet then I would say save your money and use the above mentioned method. (unless you just gotta have it because all men (and some women) like new tools…if you’re not one of those men they also sell purses on Amazon.) I had about 1000 sq. Ft. Though so I figured anything to make it faster would be worth a try. It takes a little practice to learn how to use it and not damage your flooring but it’s not that complicated. More of a muscle memory sort of thing. Once you got it you got it. (I realize some people are not as inclined as others so if you have trouble figuring it out it’s probably you)…(sorry not sorry)…back to the point. If you have a lot of flooring and only a little bit of patience I recommend buying one. It makes the job go faster and you don’t have to juggle a hammer, tapping block/scrap floor piece and a floor panel. You’re welcome 🙂

If you’re a DIYer… This is the one.. Because the Pros already know!
I’ve done a few flooring projects in my time. I’ve always ‘thought’ I knew what I was doing but for my last LVP install I decided to learn a little from YouTube at least. That’s where I found @SoThatsHowYouDoThat . This isn’t a plug for his channel but based on his recommendation I purchased this tapping block. WOW! So much easier than my previous plank install. I had to learn to use it properly from him but it is an unbelievable difference. The construction of it is solid. The handle is well mounted not just flimsily glued to the block. It is comfortable to hold and plenty heavy to keep some inertia going. The bottom was and is still smooth as glass despite the garbage I ran it over on my install. It is tough but easy to hold and use. I would have never thought I would brag about a block of…. whatever it is made of… looks like a nice piece of 2×4 but durable as steel… BUT here I am.Like my title said, the pros know (I’m sure there are other brands too) but for the DIYers, this is it! I’m telling you it is so worth it with the amount of frustration it will save you.

Pro installer review; BUY THIS!
I am a professional flooring installer. I’ve used every type of tapping system there is. Including making my own at times out of wood blocks and carpet scraps. Most do their job well enough. But there are caveats to that statement. Some put your hands in the “strike zone” and for anyone who’s smashed a finger or hand…it hurts. Others fall apart or damage the flooring. That’s never good. It’s rare to find a tool that not only does its job, does it well AND eliminates a whole step. Plus speeds up install time and is overall a joy to use. This is one of those tools. Vs a block and a mallet you now only need this one tool. No more mallet and a block. This means less wear and tear on your body. Means faster install times. Means less damaged flooring. ….Well built. Works great. Perfect weight and it keeps my hands away from getting smashed. I can’t say anything else really except, buy it. It’s a value and will pay for itself over and over. It’s so great I want another already! Professional recommended!

So I debated quite a bit on whether to pick up this striker when installing my LVP vinyl plank flooring at my house. After all, isn’t a rubber mallet and your el-cheapo Home depot plastic block enough? I mean, it’s like $60!Well, after picking this up and using it, I have to say that it is worth every penny and I can’t think of doing another job without it. The simple fact that it is heavy enough to tap planks with one hand was a game-changer for me. It made the install unbelievably easy and was a world of difference. Putting the planks together was a snap (pun intended) and made the job incredibly faster. Also, I was able to tap planks in while they were off the ground, something that would be impossible to do with a tapper block and mallet.I would not hesitate to recommend this for anyone installing flooring. It’s really that amazing.

Purchased this tapping block to install vinyl floor tiles. Installation is much easier and quicker if used properly. That is, place the tile in the proper position against the other installed floor tile, slightly tilt the tile upward, position one end of the tapping block on one end of the vinyl tile (use as a pivot) and rotate the other end (with some force) of the tapping block to “tap” the tile in place. Very quick installation. On 48-inch vinyl tiles, I sometimes need only 2 taps and the tile goes into place.
