Fun quick game.
We played this game with a 10 year old and a 7 year old. The game was pretty fun, and it involved a good amount of instincts and reaction. You do need to concentrate to win the game, which is a nice teaching moment for our kids. I didn’t feel like it had a lot of replay value, but it’s a good quick game.

Too much to look for and somehow boring at the same time.
Meh. It’s okay. But the kiddos I play with found it kind of boring coupled with too many things to look for at the same time. I’ll break it out again, but it may not be staying in my collection.

So much fun!
Hands Up! is a very fun game for 2-6 players. When I first found the game and saw the video, it reminded me of the game SET, which is a game we love, but with some additional factors. There are two game modes: lights off or lights on.Lights off mode is perfect for if you’re playing with younger players or someone who is colorblind. In lights off mode, color doesn’t matter. You still need one gem card, one fingerprint card, and one thief card in all the same number or all three different numbers (1-3) – but the color doesn’t have to be all the same or all different like in lights on mode.Lights on mode is a little more challenging. There are 3-4 lights off cards that can turn up, and when one turns up, the lights are off until someone stops a thief attempt and takes the lights off card as a bonus with their match (thief card, gem card, fingerprint card). There are also 3 cards, one in each color, that are a fully colored card with thieves on it that says “Rec” on it. When one of these is out there, you can match that with any thief card in that same color, no matter whether it has 1 thief, 2 thieves, or 3 thieves on that card.Game play: divide the cards face down evenly between players after shuffling them. Everyone says “hands up!” and puts one card into the center of the table surrounding the diamond. (If there are only two players, they both put out two cards right away.) If someone spots a match, they grab the diamond and have 5 seconds – 3 seconds in our house – to point to the three cards that create a match. If they’re correct, they get the cards. If they’re incorrect, they lose two cards they’ve collected. Regardless, they must immediately drop the diamond on the off chance there’s a second match on the table at the same time, and give the other players a chance to grab the diamond and get their match.Overall it’s super fun, and I’ve played a LOT of games in my life.

Unbelievably FUN Game that makes you think!
“Hands Up” is a card game with a Jewel and several rules. It comes in a small box, so I wasn’t sure if it would be lame or great, but it was great! There were 3 of us and we had a lot of fun playing it.The idea is to arrest a thief, and for that you need 3 ingredients: thieves , jewels , fingerprints. All of the cards are dealt out equally to each player, face down. Most cards will have 1, 2, or 3 of one of the three ingredients, and in one of three colors: yellow, blue, green. On each round, all players lay a card face up on the table simultaneously. After a few rounds there are a lot of cards lying about, and all the players have to try to determine if there is an appropriate triplet of cards among them that meet the RULES. It takes 15 or so minutes to read the rules, but takes playing a few rounds to get used to them. Even then, it’s tricky to decide when to grab that big diamond that sits in middle of table and then point out the thief/jewel/fingerprint trio of cards that justify an “arrest”. You have 5 seconds to show the 3 cards or else you have to sit out the rest of that round. If you point out three cards but they do not conform to the RULES, then you are penalized by having to give up two cards from your winnings, which are taken out of play for the rest of the game.It is challenging to try to spot a legal “arrest” (3 cards) before your competitors that do not violate the rules. Challenging, anxiety-inducing, and FUN, FUN, FUN!
