Description

Sometimes what you think you want and what you actually want turn out to be different things . . . In New York Times bestselling author Courtney Walsh’s latest uplifting women’s fiction, one woman discovers what it means to create a life that fits. Perfect for fans of Denise Hunter and Emma St. Clair.

Rosie Waterman has one dream: to become a working actor. But lately, that hasn’t been working out. When she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does–puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. But a trip home makes her realize that while she’s been struggling to make this dream come true, all her friends have become real adults with careers and weddings and babies on the way. Rosie’s been at this for years, and she has nothing to show for it. But how does she simply let go of her dream?

When she’s offered a job as the director of a regional theatre’s production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance–even though she’s only directed in college and the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she’ll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the “regional theatre” is actually in a retirement community, and the “actors” are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever.

Working on the show presents new challenges, forcing Rosie to learn how to step up and be the leader this fledgling theatre troupe needs. The more time she spends with her new cast, the more she begins to rethink what it means to dream big, especially when that big dream hasn’t turned out to be at all what she thought it would be. It’s not at all what she expected, but could it be exactly what she needs?

Come for the quirky cast, stay for the charm, and fall in love with the beautiful mess of becoming. Filled with laughter, a bit of clean romance, and a reminder that life doesn’t have to go as planned to be beautiful, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie will leave you cheering, swooning, and reaching for one more chapter.

    So enriching and fun!
Walsh has captured love, life, reality in this creative story. The characters are so realistic and real to life. I laughed and cried throughout the story, and feel so much joy at the waynit played out. Bravo!

    loved this
Interesting story and Rosie is a real character. Fun read but also hard near the end: sometimes having everything you want isn’t in the cards, but maybe what you want changes.I was a music major and had definitely idealized what that life would be like so this hit home extra.

    Easy read
This was an easy listen and nothing you had to stay focused on. There was no real angst but just a light fluffy read compared to other things I read. I say that but the FMC was going through stages of finding herself. To me it kind of played out too long. She had best friends that most would die for but she just couldn’t let them in. It was a little frustrating at times.

    Wholesome & inspiring romcom
I’m a big fan of Courtney Walsh – who is a master at writing wholesome and inspiring romcoms! I was super excited for Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, and it did not disappoint. Yet it wasn’t predictable. There were so many pleasant surprises that made me feel warm & fuzzy inside. It was full of humor, romance, depth, and wisdom.Rosie was adorably quirky and I enjoyed seeing her journey of growth. At first, I really didn’t understand her choices, until I got to know her more fully… then it all made sense.Booker was a walking green flag MMC. He was the sweetest ever. Seriously. Perfection. The side characters in the retirement community were so real, raw, funny, and unexpected. They me laugh so much.I especially appreciated Arthur… oh my goodness! So grumpy but then so unexpectedly perfect! I learned so much from him. This book does more than entertain … it inspires. This story motivated & inspired me to be more vulnerable, to embrace the present moment, and most of all to live life more fully & love more deeply.

  5. Seriously Sweet Reads

    Delightful premise with powerful themes
Courtney Walsh has done it again! This story caught my attention with the premise of an actress unexpectedly leading a production at a retirement community theater, but made an impression with the powerful themes effortlessly woven throughout! I loved the themes of finding your dream, being honest with yourself and others, and finding love and community where you least expect it, to name a few. That’s the great thing about books, especially this book, what you get out of it entirely depends on you and your past experiences. This had a great perspective on aging, finding purpose and so many other incredible themes. What a sweet, tender, funny romance! I’d rate this PG for kissing, some mention of past parental abandonment.

    irresistible, delightful, real and inspiring
I’m going to miss Rosie, but I know I’ll pick up this book and read it over and over again. It’s alive with hope and joy, laugh out loud humour and healed heartaches, it’s wonderful and a book every woman, young and old should read. An adventure of discovery and dreams.

    Loved this story!
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie was a sweet story about a dreams, finding yourself and learning to lean into hard parts of life. Through quirky and comical situations, I fell in love with Rosie, Booker and all the residents at Sunset Hills. As Rosie learns to embrace her emotions and vulnerability and to trust, you can’t help but root for her and every other character in this story. I loved each and every quirky friend that Rosie encountered and her relationship with Booker was just the sweetest! Loved everything about this story!I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. This review is my own, honest opinion.

  8. Lois A. Dicicco

    A delightful read!
Courtney is a great story teller and with her impressive background in theater, she makes Rosie’s summer adventure come alive. I think we can all learn about our life’s dreams as we watch Rosie figure hers out via this “cast of characters”. The story moves along a nice pace and leaves you wanting to read the next chapter. As usual with Courtney’s stories, I was sad because it was over but happy I had been on another delightful (non-stressful) journey.
