I’ve been through my fair share of cutting mats, and this ArtAt Self-Healing Mat is hands down the best one I’ve ever owned. From the moment I took it out of the package, I was impressed.The quality is immediately noticeable. It has a great weight to it, and the non-slip backing works perfectly—it stays firmly in place on my desk without any sliding, which is a huge plus for making precise cuts. The grid lines are incredibly clear and easy to read, making measuring and cutting a breeze. I love that it’s double-sided, so I get twice the life out of it.The “self-healing” claim is absolutely true. I use a rotary cutter frequently, and after weeks of projects, the surface shows barely any marks. The cuts seem to vanish, keeping the mat smooth and ensuring my future cuts are always clean. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I got this cutting mat for my wife since she recently started learning different crafts, and it has been a great addition to her workspace. The size is just right,big enough to work comfortably without taking over the entire table. The self healing surface is really impressive… after cutting, the lines practically disappear, which keeps it looking new even after heavy use. It also grips the table well and doesnt slide around, which makes it safer and easier to work with.My wife loves using it for quilting and scrapbooking, and I love that she’s so happy with it… I guess now the only thing I need is a second mat… so she stops chasing me away from hers when I need to cut something straight! 😬

Excellent quality and helpful markings
Packaging was pristine with careful padding and shipped flat, NOT ROLLED UP! Yay! However, it has two heavy dimples from damage on the surface near edge on one side about the diameter of a pencil eraser, which show up on the opposite side as two raised bumps. (See photo) I needed mine right away, cut it to sizes I needed and the damaged “dimples” aren’t bothering me as they are not on the main part of the working surfaces. This was a 2 foot by 4 foot mat and I love how it works smoothly, grips the work and doesn’t slide all over my work table. I cut light and heavy materials i.e., graphic vinyls and 1/8″ thick PVC substrates with xacto knives and utility cutters and razor blade box cutters. Makes great, smooth, predictable cuts and saves the blades from dulling so fast. Has grid markings that are very useful on both sides. Don’t know how we got along for years without this simple tool ! Next time, I’ll insist on a perfect mat.
