Works great for my crafting needs….
I’ve been wanting an X-Acto style craft knife for ages and I finally decided to just go ahead and do it when I spotted this set in the color Purple. The set includes a handle, a handful of blades, a small cutting mat, a squeegee type tool, and a short metal ruler. A blade came pre-installed in my handle and that is what I’ve been using like crazy to help me put together a book nook kit. The handle is ergonomic, has a rubber coating, and fits quite well in my hand. It holds the blades tightly and they stay in place even when I exert some pressure. The blades are quite sharp even after use and they are super easy to replace. The mat is small but works just fine for most of my projects. It is definitely not self-healing and it scratches easily. That being said it does a good job protecting your work surface below as well as the sharpness of the blade. The squeegee thingy also helps press the rough edges of the cuts so they are less pronounced and you can use the mat easily the next time. The ruler is made of lightweight rather flexible metal and measures both millimeters and centimeters. In addition to measurements it can also help you cut a straight line. So far I am pretty happy with how this craft knife set has turned out. It stays sharp and you can cut a steady line with it which is exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it….

Amazing design and value, best craft knife set ever!
If you’ve ever needed to use a craft knife, you should have this set! It is a great value, and the first time I tried out the self-healing mat I cut a better straight line than I ever have before with a craft/exacto knife. The knife itself is ergonomic in design and feels so good in the hand – not like the metal tiny cylindrical handles of most such knives. The blade is amazing, and you get 10 spare blades! Plus a squeegee, and two fine rulers. I will never use a craft knife again without the self-healing mat, and probably I’ll never use a different knife than this one with the ergonomic handle. All for less than $20, great job!!!

Let’s start with the mat. Measuring 22cm x 30cm, it’s pretty petite but if you’re only doing small, short cuts, it’ll work. As for the touted “self-healing” aspect, well, let’s just say that’s not really a thing here, this is a plastic mat and you will see and feel every cut that’ll ever get made on it. Oh sure, you can get real, actual “self-healing” craft mats, but this ain’t one of those. But this mat will help to save your countertop or whatever surface you may be working on, so there is some sort of positive value to it.The ruler and squeegee? Low quality but functional if you don’t have any other options available.Which brings us to the knife, which is actually a pretty decent exacto blade holder, the chunky handle is easy to grip and the blade stays securely in the collet when the collar is spun down tightly. Nice to have the 10-pack of extra blades in the package.If I was just rating the mat, it’d simply be a two star purchase, but the knife is the star here and boosts the score up to a four star level.

the board is thinner that the real ones. this is just plastic. nor at all like the green ones at the fabric store or micheals.smaller than expected but there really were no dimensions when i made my order. if i knew it was small and thin i would have passed on this in store.boarder is 28 cm x 20 cm plus a cm on each edge.since it is only plastic it slides about on the table. lame.the ruler has both types of measurements but the board does not. plus the right lower corner is useless as it is blocked by a diagram. the marking paint will not last long because it is on … plastic!the knife is a different story. its superb. i is of decent quality. although it is big enough they could have put a storage compartment on the handle to fit the extra blades in there so they dont get misplaced. accurate placement when rescrewing the blade back into position. that IS dope. its a pet peeve of mine.the scraper is nice and stiff and the fuzzy side is a smart addition.just the board is a disappointment. the rest of the set is very desirable. the board. nope, its pretty junky to me.

I use this craft knife set for various projects. The knife feels good in my hand and cuts well. The extra blades are useful when the one I’m using gets dull. The cutting mat is a bit thin, but it works for now. The steel ruler is helpful for measuring and the vinyl squeegee makes applying vinyl easier. I’ve had no major issues with any part of the set. The quality is good enough for my needs. I’ll keep using these tools for my crafting projects.
