Fantastic Filament – Smooth Prints Every Time!
Fantastic Filament – Smooth Prints Every Time!I absolutely love this filament! It prints beautifully with consistent results, and I’ve had zero issues with clogging or stringing. The quality is top-notch — layers go down smoothly, adhesion is excellent, and the finish looks professional. I’ve used it for everything from detailed miniatures to larger decor pieces, and it performs great every time. Definitely one of my favorite filaments to work with. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants reliable, high-quality prints! I have order more I recommend this filament

Stunning on standard settings
I have an Ender 3 v2 with a sprite head. I printed at a lower temp then I typically print as to not “burn” and it was just silky and beautiful. I printed the whole spool in a matter of days because I was so in love with it (our house has a LOT of Groot now) and it never clogged. One vase I did and sanded showed “rings” which just added to the beauty of this product. I am giving it a 5 because I really am loving it and even purchased more already, but it does have some downsides that should be mentioned they just aren’t enough for me to drop the stars because the prints are so gorgeous with little to no post work. Pictured vase has had no post work and is straight off the printer.Cons: It has more of a smell then other filaments while it is printing. I am very sensitive to smell and had to print with window open overnight. Again, I am VERY sensitive to smell, so this probably won’t affect most people but worth a mention. It marks up easy like a soft wood and is hard to keep the beauty of the matte finish with finishing agents. You lose something. I have tried resin (super glossy) and a wood wax which seemed the best choice. I was tempted to try an oil but worry it would break down the PLA as oil and PLA don’t typically play nice together. I tried Modge Podge and Gesso as well…both showed lines and really didn’t leave it as protected as I would have liked. So still exploring finishing options. Manufacturer didn’t have any guidance on their site to help with this. As it marks up so easily it really needs something to protect it, or your beautiful print won’t last. The heart is my first test with the best results. Left wood wax, right resin. I need to see if more layers of wax will prevent marking up.Finally, color. Mine came out not like a deep rose-colored rosewood but a deep chocolate color. It’s still beautiful, but I would have to say it is really dark.

Pretty Filament, be careful if using a management system
[Edit: I am updating this review after receiving some stellar support from AMOLEN who was very interested in knowing more about the problem, this level of customer support is worth mentioning. ]I want to love this filament. It’s pretty neat. It perfectly matched some wood furniture in my home that I was printing some parts to hide various wires for plant lights so everything wouldn’t look ugly. And it was great in terms of matching the color and having a wood-like texture. My initial print came out pretty well.I did unfortunately have a difficult time using this in a filament management system (CFS, AMS, or similar). More than once when the system tried to reload the filament, it caused the filament to break off in the extruder. My hypothesis is that the actual wood fibers cause this filament to have a rougher texture that these systems are not used to. However when I switched to just using the spool holder, everything was gravy. No issues. I did a 14 hour Groot planter that came out fantastic. No bobbing or stringing or anything like that. And the results look much cooler than if I was just using brown filament.I will definitely order more of this filament when I’m looking to create unique prints, but I did want to mention at the very least to CFS users that you may encounter minor issues and the fix that worked for me was to bypass the CFS and just feed this filament directly in.

Tricky to print, not quite as red as expected
This Rosewood PLA is beautiful, but it’s not quite as red as expected. In some light it definitely looks like chocolate brown. It’s very tricky to print. Here are my notes after printing about a dozen prints on a Voron-0 and ZeroG Mercury 1:- Nozzle Temp: 205, temp tower shows stringing above 205, and below 190 is hard to extrude.- Bed temp: 65- Speed: 30-40mm max- Bed adhesion is really bad for PLA and warping can cause issues. I found only textured PEI with NanoAdhesive held tightly enough to consistently avoid problems.- This filament is extremely abrasive. I had to remove the filament from my filament dryer for printing because there was so much friction in the PTFE tube that my DD extruder was chewing up the filament and slipping.- The printed parts are very strong and layer adhesion is good. Supports are slightly easier to remove than in most PLA, probably because of the rigidity.

Great filament.
Definitely my favorite PLA filament. The marble + brick red + cement grey is a great color scheme. I’ve purchased the marble 8 times now, lol.

Not dimensionaly accurate, poor QA, poor adhesion.
Some of the worst wood PLA I have printed with (despite the premium price tag). I purchased the tigerwood PLA because I though the color gradient would make it more wood-like than other filament. Unfortunately, this spool prints so poorly I wasn’t able to assess that aspect of the print. The bed and layer adhesion are horrible, and it clogs easily on both .4 and .4mm nozzles. The filament was wet and brittle on receipt and remained brittle after drying. After spending hours and a 5th of the roll trying to tune my profile to print it better, I was still struggling with uneven extrusion. After breaking out a micrometer, it turns out my issues were because the filament is not dimensionaly accurate at all. While the listing boasts +/-0.02mm accuracy, in just 1 meter of filament, I got measurements ranging from 1.72mm up to 1.88… which is only 0.16mm and explains the uneven extrusion! While I applaud Amolen for being one of the only bicolor wood filament manufacturers out there, between the poor QA, brittleness, and lac of dimensional accuracy, I can’t recommend this to anyone.

I was worried about the extruder being clogged or other problems after reading the reviews here. But everything worked perfectly. The color is almost a little too homogeneous for me. I would have liked more small variations for wood. In the photo the color appears much lighter than in reality.Settings:Bambulab P1S with standard settings for generic PLA. 0.4 mm standard nozzle. Layer height 0.2 mm. Temperature 220° and 55° bed.For me, no drying was necessary. In winter, the humidity is generally low here.

Grazie!!
