High Quality DIY Pendant Set
First, I have to praise the packaging. The moment I saw it, I felt it was very high-end. I was a little surprised, as I didn’t buy anything expensive. But after opening it, I was truly pleasantly surprised. The pendant is so beautiful and adorable. I love this DIY jewelry-making set! The necklace and bracelet are sparkling, and the tools are so easy to use. It would be a perfect gift for a girl.

Too much for not enough quality
This 18k DIY Jewelry Making kit unfortunately falls short for me in a couple of areas. While it does come with a decent amount of items, I found that a lot of them were duplicates or just didn’t have a place they’d really fit style wise unless you were specifically looking for “that one piece you couldn’t find anywhere else.” More-so than the lack of variety, this set also has a listing for ring making also but it only has one band in the entire kit. The ultimate reason why I just cannot in good conscience rate this set any higher is the poor quality. Upon opening the box you can immediately see how terribly cheap the “18k Gold plated” truly is. The one ring that was included was almost blackened completely and after just a few days of trying to complete a bracelet, most of the other pieces were looking worse for wear.

Great tools but the jewelry parts could be better
This kit is great if you mainly need the tools because that’s where the real quality is. The pliers feel solid, durable, and easy to handle even for smaller hands. They don’t feel flimsy like some beginner kits do, and they’re perfect for basic jewelry repairs or crafting projects. The tools alone make this worth the price since they work well for bending, cutting, and attaching jump rings without slipping.However, the jewelry materials themselves aren’t as impressive. The chains and charms look a bit cheap in person and don’t have the same bright gold tone as shown in the photos. They’re okay for practice pieces or kids’ crafts, but not something I’d use for gifts or selling. Great kit! Careful with the tools
I got this kit to use with my grandchildren, so we could enjoy some arts and crafts time together. We had a lot of fun, and the kit was a big hit. More on its awesomeness in a sec.It’s important to note here that my grandchildren are teens and young adults. The product description states that this kit is for adults, and for a good reason that doesn’t have anything to do with swallowing charms: the wire cutters and the pliers are sharp where they are supposed to be sharp (and work very well, and are heavy duty, springy and comfortable), but they are also sharp along some of the other edges and corners that are usually rounded on “standard” tools. And because the handles are held apart by the spring, the tools remain open constantly, adding to the risk of injury to little fingers.So the tools work great, and I’m happy to have them, but they’re not for kids.Back to the awesomeness:The kit makes a really, really nice presentation. The reusable box is lovely and practical, and mine also contained a drawstring bag I can save charms in.The charms feel substantial in-hand and the colors are good. They are really cute.Nobody had any difficulties with connections or links. Everything fit together as it should.The variety of chains and charms available in this kit is great. Having so many choices really added to the fun of our craft day.

Good and not so good
I love that this kit comes with everything you need to begin jewelry making. And there are so many different charms, it won’t be hard to find ones you like. The charms come in a variety of sizes and colors and themes. The included tools are good too. The only reason I gave this kit four stars instead of five was that the quality of the chains/connectors wasn’t as good as I expected given the price of the kit. It comes boxed beautifully for a gift, but I’d want to add some nicer chains for the person. Overall, it is a good kit for the cost.

Gold chains not like the chains delivered
This kit could’ve been 5 stars easily, if it hadn’t contained old looking gold chains. It came in great packaging, everything seemed alright until I saw the gold chains for the necklaces and bracelets. At first look, they absolutely looked tarnished and dark. At that point, I set it aside for a couple of days.When I came back to it to take pictures for this review, I took them out of the many little baggies they were in. That’s when I realized the haze of the bags made the gold look tarnished and old. Once out, they do look good, they’re a very dark gold though, and I’d been hoping for a bright gold. Oddly enough there are a couple of bright gold pieces, but much less than the darker goal.Here’s the kicker — the charms that I poured out of a velvet tiny baggie are PHENOMENAL. Like, totally unexpected and thrilling because I’d assumed they’d also be iffy. They’re small and tiny little charms that have a ton of range — some are an enamel flower, some are musical instruments, there are word ones. And seriously, they’re amazing.it’s a tough decision. Not having the necklaces (I don’t want to wear that dark of a gold bc when you glance at it, it reads rusty or whatever the word is) just takes the whole point away :/The charms are just the right size, and easy to pick up and work with. They all have a way to attach them to a chain and in my opinion, they’ll be safe from falling off because they look so sturdy and high quality.Thinking about the price and how it’s in the $30s, I wouldn’t buy it again. The gold chains were so much of a reason I wanted it, and I really only got charms. Awesome charms lol but the kit isn’t worth that much when the gold that’s advertised as being bright isn’t at all.
