The Summer of Yes: The feel-good story about letting go and taking a chance on life
$17.99 Original price was: $17.99.$8.59Current price is: $8.59.

Sometimes you’re so busy writing other people’s stories that you lose the plot of your own. Full of heart, joy, and hope, The Summer of Yes features an unlikely female friendship, one crazy road trip, a bookish protagonist, and a slow-burn, kisses only romance. Perfect for fans of Rachel Linden and Annabel Monaghan.
This wasn’t how Kelsey Worthington’s day was supposed to go. She wasn’t supposed to be picking up Starbucks for her smarmy boss. She wasn’t supposed to get hit by a car that jumped the curb. And she certainly wasn’t supposed to wake up in a hospital room next to Georgina Tate–the legendary matriarch of New York City businesswomen.
Kelsey and Georgina couldn’t be more opposite. Kelsey’s a dreamer, a writer who questions her own skill. And Georgina is a confident businesswoman whose years of shouldering her way into boardrooms and making her voice heard have made her far too outspoken for the faint of heart.
But now, when Georgina’s failing kidneys force her to face some big regrets about the way she’s lived her life, the two women recognize they share a common thread. Maybe it’s time to confront a few things. They must ask themselves: What if I said yes to everything I’ve always said no to?
With Georgina as her companion, Kelsey soon finds herself doing things she’s never done before. Eating street food. Swimming in the ocean. Matchmaking for Georgina with the help of Georgina’s handsome son. And writing her own romance–both in book form and in real life.
So begins the Summer of Yes.
If you’re craving a warm, inspiring story that celebrates second chances, new adventures, and what happens when you finally live out of your comfort zone, The Summer of Yes is your next must-read. Join Kelsey and Georgina on a road trip of transformation, friendship, and unexpected love.

My Book A Day –
I loved this audio book so much!
I loved listening to the audio book of The Summer of Yes! The voices of Kelsey and Georgina were so great. And I loved the message of this book.As the reader starts this story, Kelsey is waking up in a hospital bed with no memory of how she would have gotten there. She had just gone to the coffee shop to pick up some drinks for the office. Apparently she had been hit by a car, but she didn’t really remember. The hospital is full, so an older woman, Georgina, is put in the room with Kelsey. She’s grumpy, brusque and rude to all around her. But that doesn’t stop Kelsey from talking to her. And eventually deciding that she and Georgina need to go on a road trip for summer. What Kelsey titles The Summer of Yes. Saying yes to all the things they normally wouldn’t do.And that’s how their adventure begins. An adventure of not only travel, but discover, healing, hope, promise and so many other good things for both of them.I love that the reader gets to see the story through both Kelsey’s and Georgina’s eyes. They get to see their regrets, their successes, and their failures as well. There were many times I yelled at them not to do something as I was listening. This one is just so great!

A fun, lighthearted, and fun story with valuable messages intertwined!
I really enjoyed this lighthearted and fun story! I loved the friendship & dynamic between Kelsey and Georgina from the mix of banter, sarcasm, and tender moments. I laughed out loud so many times at Georgina’s commentary while also finding just how much I could relate to Kelsey.Georgina is a strong woman who is an absolute hoot with her boldness and bluntness… she doesn’t hold back when she speaks her mind.. and I loved every second of it. Her story shows the importance of what truly matters in life, family, and the power of forgiveness.Through Kelsey’s story, I think many (myself included) will relate to the challenges and difficulties that come with stepping out of your comfort zone and facing fear/uncertainty. As Kelsey chooses to say Yes she challenges herself to be bold, take risks, and face things she’s afraid of. She comes to realize just how capable she is and when it’s appropriate to stand firm and say no. She ultimately learns that regardless of the situation or outcome there is always hope. This book leans more into women’s fiction while still including a light and sweet romance (kisses only!) in full Courtney Walsh fashion. This book is marketed as Christian fiction and is very light on faith content, which is one thing I would have liked to see more prominent in the story. If you like stories filled with friendship, family, laugh-out-loud moments, relatable characters, and valuable messages… this book is perfect for you this summer!💕

Say YES to this book!
This was a great book. It’s my first time to read a book by Courtney Walsh but it certainly won’t be my last. I didn’t want to put it down and it didn’t disappoint me. I highly recommend this book!

Cute!
I really enjoyed this book, it’s clean with no bad language and no sex scenes like a lot of the books do have today. I thought the writing was excellent, it was just a little slow going at the beginning but otherwise great. I gave it to a friend to read as well. Would recommend!

Felt a Little Far Fetched
I absolutely love Courtney Walsh. She’s one of my favorite authors, and I almost always give her books a 5. But this one just didn’t grip me. It felt like a very slow start for me and a the storyline and relationships a little far fetched. The ending was still good as always but just not my favorite.

Kelsey was living a perfectly adequate (observer) life when a literal run-in lands her in the hospital. While coming to the realization of where she is, she also recognizes she’s not alone, and her new roommate is anything but happy with it. Enter: Georgina Tate. Makeup mogul & all around boss of a female business owner. With Georgina by her side, Kelsey embarks on a ‘Summer of Yes’ and discovers that it’s not always the big yeses that make a difference in your life. Sometimes the beauty of the moment is found in the little yeses of everyday life.I already knew @courtneywalsh was an auto-buy author. ‘The Summer of Yes’ is a disruptor to the life of the reader in only the best sense. Listening to this book brings clarity to how we spend the yeses in our life and acts as a reminder of the value of how we spend our time.Note: I received an advanced listener copy of this book courtesy of #netgalley. All thoughts and reviews are my own. In fact, I was actively reading the copy I purchased myself when I received the advanced audio copy and switched to listening.

I have read all of Courtney Walsh’s books, so obviously I enjoy them! This one is one of the best as it really speaks to the important things in life. It speaks to the fear that holds us back, the risk we need to take to overcome the fear, and the possibilities on the other side of the risk. It speaks to my life right now. Encouraging me to take the risk and step out of the box, whatever that may look like. And the best thing is this book does it with a light hearted, charming and whimsical kind of way. Definitely worth the read 🙂
