Did the job well enough
I succeeded on the first try with good result. Just make sure you really press down the blade when cutting. I had one side that didn’t cut through completely and have to give a second go. You can see the minor defect if you know where to look, otherwise it’s all right. So far only did one cut.

Good mat cutting tool for standard mats.
This is a simple but sturdy mat cutter. The instructions that are included are clear and easy to follow. I don’t think this will work as well on thicker mat board. But for standard mat board, which is what I will uses, it’s just fine. I think based on the quality of the construction, it will last for some time to come. Very happy with this handy tool.

Nice cutter tool, need more practice.
I’ve only gotten to use this once and I’ve never cut mat board before, so my first attempt wasn’t perfect, but it worked pretty well, and I know I’ll get better at it. I’m excited to use it to make custom mats for my watercolor art. It makes the gifts just that much more personal. Now all I need to do is figure out the best way to use it and get some practice.

Easy to use, cuts very well, in fact, remarkably well.Really comfortable to hold and manipulate, the blades are easy to load as well.This is a lifesaver with my wife’s CRICUT designs and cuts, she absolutely loves it.It has perfect functionality and control, its really an amazing little tool. This retractable mat cutter is also quite a quality item, made of metal and not plastic.

Make sure they fit your mat cutter as all blades are not the same
Interesting that the blades came in the seemingly handmade box with beveled edges slipped into the red outer paper. Unfortunately the stack of blades was wrapped in an oily brown paper so using the blades would require them to be wiped clean. I removed the stack and trashed the oily paper and set them on some bubble wrap.The blades did not fit our tabletop large mat cutter that we were hoping to use them with. One of my photos shows that the blades we use most often have a horizontal slot rather than the vertical slot that these blades have. These blades measure 1 1/2″ x 5/8″, smaller than what we use for our primary mat cutter. They do fit our small Logan hand mat cutter which is style #270.If you order this set of blades, be certain that the design, dimension, and hole orientation matches what your mat cutter requires (if not a Logan).
