Works well on Bambu A1, with some easy tweaks
Worked well in my Bambu Lab A1, with some slight tweaks. I found that lowering the nozzle temp to 210, and keeping the heatbed on 65 or 70 let this print perfectly. If using the stock Overture settings on the A1 I had some adhesion issues, and would get some stringing on larger flat surfaces, but the settings I mentioned above cleared that right up.Very affordable filament and looks great when printed.

    Good filiment!
A very good color of filiment. Heard OVERTURE is a reliable filiment producer, and turns out it is true.

  3. Caitlin Anderson

    Great filament
I love overture. Great filament. Never tangles. Great color. Never clogs. It’s everything you want from a good filament.

  4. Ammaconda

This is good quality filament but the color was a little deceptive.
I ordered a roll of red filament. I understand that the picture showed that it was a brighter red, not a darker red, but I did not expect it to be quite this shade. It’s more orange than red. I have Home Depot buckets near my 3D printer and the colors look very similar. Not that it’s a huge problem because the project I bought this roll for is going to be painted anyways. But the most important thing to review is the overall quality that you can get with this filament. Some filaments are cheap to buy, and difficult to work with. And some filaments are not cheap to buy and still difficult to work with. This is a filament that I have no regrets in spending $20 on. The other rolls of filament that I have used, from other companies, have given me issues like warping, leaving a bunch of strings, and potentially even bubbling up in certain areas of the print, resulting in bald spots. With this filament, I feel like this is one of the cleanest prints we have had so far. I will definitely be ordering this brand of filament again! But again, just be mindful that the colors you pick, maybe a different color in person than in the photo.

  5. Radsan

    Printed fairly good, but…
Printed fairly good, but there was some inconsistencies, and the filament had a very hard time unwinding in some spots which caused print failure from time to time. Yes, by extruder is in good condition.

Review updated to excellent experience: A really bad experience with Overture fillament
Edit 20220828:I’m changing my review to 5 stars here. I’ve learned so much more about 3D printing since the first review. The bad prints were totally my fault. I had a partially clogged nozzle and was printing at a temperature that wasn’t hot enough for the Overture filament. It is now working great for me.Original Review:I’ve been using Hatchbox PLA filament for a while (2 years) with no issues (Creality CR-10 at work). I mistakenly ordered the Overture PLA (for home) in red and have had nothing but bad experiences with it. The prints that worked looked bad. The prints that didn’t work, well, they didn’t work. Since I have a full 1KG roll, I keep trying and keep being disappointed with it. I’m using Cura and generic PLA in the slicer with standard quality (extruder at 200C and bed at 60C, Creality CR10 Smart at home), just like with my Hatchbox filament. So far, no good. I would not recommend Overture filament to anyone. I WILL change my mind and update this review if I can find the settings to print that work well with Overture. I’m keeping an open mind here. Please comment if you like Overture and I will learn from you. The pics with this review are of the two prints that didn’t completely fail. Oh, I should mention that the “kit card” print of the star wars fighter came out OK (except for the bubbles on the lower left piece) but you can see is it not very thick at all.

    Love Overture
Big fan of overture pla. Ive never had issues with the quality, no clogging, its always rolled correctly with on kinks. Easy to dial in with your printer to prevent stringing and all that good stuff. Color is great also. I have 10+ roles. The super speed ones. Great value in my opinion just do to the consistency of the product. I like the range of temp even though I normally stick to 200-210.

  8. Amanda D.

    Always a great brand
As someone who 3D prints daily, overture is always a brand that never lets me down. Great filament and love the pigments and colors. I will always recommend this brand. The quality is great and doesn’t break like other brands, never had an issue with clogging as well.

The OVERTURE PLA Filament is a great choice for 3D printing. It prints smoothly with consistent diameter and no clogging issues. The 1.75mm filament adheres well to the bed and delivers excellent layer bonding for detailed and sturdy prints. With 1kg of material, it’s a fantastic value for the price. Perfect for hobbyists and professionals alike!

This PLA filament has higher shrinkage compared to Anycubic brand PLAs. It also feels to have higher hardness than the Anycubic PLAs. Sometimes, this PLA can get a bit tricky to stick to my PEI plate. I have to make sure I wipe down the plate with alcohol each time, while I didn’t have to do this with my other brand PLAs.That being said, the red colour looks great and accurate.

  11. Aaron

ID really like to see this filament come in bigger spools 3kg 5kg i have to spend x amount just to finish a 3 day project but amazing filament to work with never had any issues 100%

  12. David Lam

The filament keeps getting tangled on the roll, I’ve had 4 prints fail because the roll was tangled (not on the printer, on the roll). One of the prints was 15 hours in when it failed.

  13. Mike

I have a new Bambu PS1 – I’ve purchased only Bambu filament to this point – never had an issue. I wanted to see if something cheaper would work – 3/3 prints failed using this filament …. Obviously I have no idea about the composition of this filament – but all I can say is that it failed 100% of the time on my machine when the Bambu filament worked 100% of the time.
