A Great Investment—Delivers Exactly What It Promises!
The Nicapa StandardGrip Cutting Mat is a fantastic, reliable product. It provides the perfect amount of tack for holding down materials during cutting without being overly sticky, making it easy to release your finished cuts. It has proven to be a great investment and absolutely delivers on its promises. I’m very happy with its performance and reliability. Good job, Nicapa!

Great Value and Perfect for My Silhouette Cameo!
I’ve been using these cutting mats with my Silhouette Cameo 4, and they’ve been fantastic! The standard grip is just right for a wide range of materials—I’ve used them with cardstock, vinyl, printable sticker paper, and even some thinner fabrics, and everything sticks well without tearing when I remove it.The mats come with a protective film cover, which I always put back on after each use to help preserve the stickiness. I also use a scraper and spatula to clean off scraps and lift delicate cuts, and the mats have held up really well over multiple uses.Getting a 10-pack is such a great value, especially if you craft often like I do. It’s nice not having to worry about running out or overusing one mat to the point of frustration. These are definitely comparable to the name-brand mats but at a much better price. If you use a Silhouette Cameo and go through mats regularly, I highly recommend giving these a try!

    Works Well!
They are slightly diferent with measurement/size in comparison to the official Silhouette matts, but they still work great with the machine. When doing print and cut I have no issues with alignment, which was my biggest concern. However, like the offical Silhouette mats, these also are VERY sticky and hard to peal sticker paper off of (even after getting the mat pretty dirty) It’s still definitely easier than getting them off of a brand new Silhouette mat (luckily) but it would be nice if it came off as easily as it does from Cricut mats. (Mats are the only thing I feel Cricus has made right. I gave my Cricut away to a friend for free because I hated ut! Silhouette is so much better!) To sum up, these mats are definitely worth the money. Just be careful when using brand new mats because it can be hard to take paper/sticker paper off.

Used to hate these, now I’m a HUGE FAN!
Update: There have been changes made to the adhesive. They used to be comparable to the “standard” grip cutting mats from Silhouette, but the new adhesive is similar to the “light hold” Silhouette mats. I’m still going to buy these for the time being as I think the value is still better then the brand-name version.—–When I originally got these I was highly disappointed (left a 2-star review) because I couldn’t get them to work well with print and cut that, and that’s how I use my Silhouette Portrait for 99% of the time. However…I decided to give these another try around a year back and managed to get them to work beautifully and have since repurchased them 4+ times to use for my sticker business!I have a portrait 1 and 2, and I’ve noticed that not only does each type of cutting mats have its own quirks, but so does each model of machine (and possible each machine in general, not specific to model). With the silhouette brand mats, I find I need to line the paper up just on or inside the border-line to get it to cut correctly. With the Nicapa mats, I have to overlap the bounding line or I will get a registration error or it won’t cut at all. To make it simple, I usually line the edge of my paper up with the bottom of the numbers on the top of the sheet and put the left side of the paper over the line by approx the same amount. Sometimes I’ll hold the mat up to a lamp once I have the paper on it to make sure it’s positioned correctly before I load it into my Portrait. I primarily use these mats with my Portrait 2, but I’ve been able to successfully use them with my Portrait 1 with the same positioning.I prefer these over the Silhouette brand mats now, not only due to price (you get 3 mats for the price of one Silhouette brand mat) but also because they are a little thicker and I like the heft. The slight thickness also helps paper stick to it a little longer when the adhesive starts to wear out because it doesn’t put as much stress on the failing adhesive due to bending during the cutting process. Here are a couple of tips if you are having issues with these mats (or cutting mats in general):1. If you are having registration issues try playing around with the lighting near the machine or play around with opening or closing the lid. I find 2 desk lamps and a ceiling light with the lid of my machine open usually works well, but if I have any registration issues I’ll close the machine lid and that usually does it trick.2. If your cuts aren’t accurate (or you are still having registration issues), try playing around with how you position your paper on the cutting mats. I’ve actually found my machines to be a lot less finicky with positioning with these mats compared to Silhouette-brand, but these machines are known to be finicky, so it takes some trial and error.3. The adhesive on the mats is too strong right out of the packaging and tears the paper when I try to take it off (this is true for most mats, so I didn’t take a star off for it). My solution is to press a kitchen towel onto the mat a remove it several times before use to weaken the adhesive a little bit.4. If you are having issues with your paper coming off the mats super curled, try turning the mat over and peeling the mat off the paper vs. peeling the paper off the mat. Super easy!5. When the adhesive does start to go you can get more use out of your cutting mat by going out it with a link roller to remove debris and sometimes it also lays down a bit of additional adhesive from the roller. Once I’ve exhausted what the lint roller can do to help I’ll tape the top and bottom of the paper down with washi tape to get a little more life out of the mat.Original review:I bought these as an inexpensive alternative to the normal silhouette cutting mats, which can be a little pricy. Right around the same time, I started using them I began having registration issues with print and cut, which I never had before. After comparing the mat to a genuine Silhouette mat, I found the space between the top of the mat and the gridline for an 8.5×11 sheet of paper is ever so slightly bigger on these. I figured it would be a simple fix, just move the paper up a tad, but now I can’t get anything to cut where I was supposed to. Since these mats have a decent number of good reviews I’m going to experiment a little, but I’ll probably end up returning them.

    Ten STARS!!!!!
THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would give them 10 stars if I could.I can’t believe that I didn’t know about these mats before!!!! This is the BEST cutting mat for your Cricut Explore and WHOO HOOO for your Explore Air 2 on the speed mode!!! Cutting large projects like an SVGcuts house is drastically reduced in cutting time !!!!No headache from the glue on the green 12 X 12 mats. What’s up with that anyway? I wrote to cricut about them and no answer. I bought a bulk pack on ebay and could hardly use them they smelled so toxic and gave me a migraine. I didn’t open them right away so I couldn’t return them what a waste of money. But Nicapa mats you are heavenly!!!!!Not only they don’t smell, but they are super sticky and clean to work with. The paper doesn’t get stuck like crazy glue. From parchment to .55 chipboard they all stick the same and peel off like a breeze. And they hold up well to the cutting blade.I also like they are clear because I can see if the cut went through before removing it from the mat. If I can’t see the cut marks I can just run it through again. I only had to do this once with some glitter stock but once I set the custom cut dial to light chipboard .55.I stopped cutting projects because the mats were becoming a pain to clean and the smell was crazy. I found the light blue cricut mat and the purple the best for my projects, but they are so expensive! And still a pain to clean up and scrap off projects. You won’t believe the magic of these Nicapa mats!

    Great product for the money!
