Really nice box but really cheap pieces
This 10-in-1 family game set is a fun idea that looks great sitting out, but it’s not quite as nice once you start playing with it. The wooden box itself is lovely. It has a sliding lid with checkers and chess printed on one side and Chinese checkers carved into the other. When you open it up, the inside bottom has a backgammon board printed on it, and if you flip the entire box over, you’ll find five more games on the underside: Tic-Tac-Toe, Mind Magic, Roll’em, Insanity, and Mill. The box smells like real wood when you first open it, which reassures you that it’s solid, but the scent fades quickly.The wooden box is easily the nicest part of the whole set. Every single game piece is made of cheap plastic. The pickup sticks feel especially flimsy, short, and bendy. The Chinese checker marbles aren’t smooth at all, and some have rough edges from the molding process that were never sanded down. The chess pieces are hollow and uneven, and even the knight I pulled out has a lopsided base that doesn’t sit flat. Everything about the pieces feels rushed and low quality, which is disappointing given how nice the box is.On the plus side, the set includes three dice and a doubling cube for backgammon. The instruction sheet is clear and easy to follow, and the wooden case really is a nice touch. I actually bought it hoping to use it as a decorative piece on a table in my game room, and it does look great as long as all the plastic pieces stay hidden inside.It retails for twenty dollars, which makes it about two dollars per game. That helps justify the plastic pieces a little, and I do appreciate the variety. The listing, however, is misleading. It shows pink pieces for Chinese checkers, but you only get white. It also shows a Mancala board and colorful backgammon setup, which are not included. The backgammon board inside is gray and yellow, not red and yellow like the pictures.Overall, it’s a charming set for display and casual family fun, but not something you’d pull out for serious play. I love that it’s wooden and that you get ten games for the price, but the pieces themselves don’t match the quality of the box.

All our favorite games in one box
We have been playing this family game set frequently. It is our “after dinner” activity. First, we played chess, then checkers, then we played Chinese checkers, but only to see who could solve it first. The wooden box is pretty, and it’s convenient that all the boards are built in. There is no need to search for missing lids and boards. This drawer is difficult to deal with, but the game still functions, and you just need proper technique. The box conveniently puts all the pieces in one area; in addition, the pieces are lightweight and easy to use for children. It has ten games altogether: chess, Chinese checkers, backgammon, tic tac toe, mill, pick up sticks, and dice, plus a few smaller games that we never heard of called Mind Magic and Insanity. I like finding stuff like that out with the family. Everything fits in the storage box, and the pieces are small enough for little kids to carry. It all packs up nicely, so nothing goes missing. We haven’t tried taking it on a trip, but it seems small enough to be a fun travel companion. All in all, great for family time.

We started using this set and love it.The set itself comes in a wooden box which slides open. Inside you find 10 different games: backgammon , checkers, chess, chinese checkers, dice, insanity, mill, mind magic, pick up sticks, roll ’em. Which should keep the family busy on a rainy day.My kids enjoyed playing chess. While the figures are made of plastic, they are solid and feel good in hand. Great Gaming Fun for Family Night
This family game set is a handy grab for instant fun. The 10 games which include family favorites like Chess, Checkers, and Pick-Up Sticks make for a convenient no hassle set up. I like that we can choose a different game each time or play more than one without having a bunch of different ones piled up. The pieces are ok, though feel a bit lower quality than the storage box. The rules are all there to help new players with how to play the games. The quality is average overall but there is plenty of fun to be had.
