Being able to rip and thread the needle.
It’s as everyone said one side of the combo doesn’t work fully. The riper must be held by your finger in order to continuously work. That’s a lousy design mechanism. The other riper with the panda head locks, so this is just shotty deigns. The needle threader works fine. If I didn’t have two I would return. I won’t buy again and I don’t recommend this product.

This is a very cute and handy little tool! I cross stitch and even wearing “readers” it’s hard to thread a needle anymore. I leave one by my living room chair and one goes into my portable sewing bag.

USING THIS SEAM RIPPER IS BASICALLY LIKE PLAYING WACK-A-MOLE
Bought this as a novelty because I thought it looked cute, and I liked that it has a threader and seam ripper all in one tool. Unfortunately, the cuteness is the only win here. If you have even the slightest resistance with the seam ripper, it just snaps back into the device, and it’s been a total pain to try and use this for any of my sewing projects. The treader works well, but the two-for-one concept is kind of canceled out if you’re only using the treader. Solid idea, really poor execution. Don’t waste your money (unless you want a needle threader that’s a little easier to keep track of because it’s part of this large pen-style device).

Best design for sewing tools combo
Struggle to buy anything plastic but this fits my exception rule that is for long term use, better design that natural material availability and so easy to use- cuteness factor definitely won me over too!
