Deal out fun with one of the many games you’ll find inside: James Bond
Players: 2-6 | Ages: 7+ | Playtime: 5 minutes
This is a newer game that’s really popular with kids. It’s a quick-paced game that’s easy to learn, so it’s fun for the whole family.
Objective: Get four of a kind in all of your piles
How to Deal: The dealer deals four piles of four face-down cards to each player for three or six players, or six piles of four face-down cards for two, four, or five players (as shown in the picture).
The remaining cards are placed face up in a row between the players.
How to Play: To begin the game, the dealer yells, “Go!” Players pick up each of their piles, look at the four cards in the pile, and decide if they want to trade a card from the pile for one of the face-up cards in the center in an effort to create a pile of four of a kind.
Players can only look at one of their piles at a time and can only replace one card at a time. They cannot trade cards directly from one pile to another. There are no turns. Everyone plays simultaneously. The first player to create matching sets of four in all of their piles yells, “James Bond!” to end the game.
Materials One deck of cards with jokers removed (two decks for four to six players)

A Lot of Fun Card Games
Many games (75) explained with diagrams. Three sections in book for games for 1, 2, 3 or more people. Going to have a lot of fun with card games! Excellent book for the money.

Family fun in a book
Great book of games for the entire family. We use it often when the grandkids are over and they claim to be bored. All you need is a deck of cards.

Clear instructions; Aimed at parents
I have mixed feelings about this book. As a parent, it has some good suggestions for family game nights and playing games with kids including what skills some games will help develop. I bought it for a single young adult, however, who has no kids. But it has a really decent amount of games, which were well explained/illustrated (which is what really matters in a card game book) and the price was great, so I did not return it but gave it to them anyway. I also bought a copy for myself.Edit: as I’ve played through more of the games, I find myself wanting a more “adult” book for myself, as I find that some games I want to play have been simplified too much, and sometimes without the author noting that the instructions have been changed from what is traditional. This book was great for learning Hearts, but the simplified instructions for Euchre make it almost a different game, because she doesn’t explain the ranking system of Euchre, in which the Jack of the trip suit and the Jack of the other suit of that color are the high trumps, leaving the reader to conclude that the ranking sun is the standard aces high of most other trick-taking games. Then there’s Spades, which claims a player count of 2-5. Spades is usually played in partnership, but I figured playing as individuals would still help us get the hang of bidding. Spades for two using the instructions in the book was just a disaster. Three or five might work, though.

Great games easy to understand
This is a great way of connecting with others. It has been a joy to teach my grandchildren something we can enjoy together. It has allowed us a space to talk about anything on their minds while having a great time.

I’m glad I bought this. Made summer vacation much more fun.
We bought this for the kids for summer vacation. They learn 1 or 2 new games a week and have enjoyed playing the games for hours. I like how it’s divided in sections by how many people can play and also ranked by difficulty. Now we all have our new family favorites.

Not bad, just not great
we have a lot of board games in our house but my daughter just discovered that there were more games than poker and blackjack. We play go fish but couldn’t remember the rules to any of the other games for when we were kids. I really like that this book is broken up into games for 2 or more players and games for one. It is also divided into easy, medium, and hard. There were several games that we recognize and a whole bunch of them I had never heard of before. We have played two new games out of the book so far. I appreciate that many of the game instructions have pictures to show you how the cards should be laid out. Unfortunately they do not all have pictures and we have had to guess at some of the rules and interpretations. For example, the game steal the pile, it does not really clarify how gameplay goes or how we set up our cards in front of us. I think we have managed to make it up well enough to work for us. My 7 year old daughter did enjoy interpreting the rules and tried to figure out what she thought it was trying to say. I would recommend this book, just don’t expect it to be great or clear.
