Sharp and Well-Sized but Heavier and Stiffer Than Expected
I use professional dressmaker shears daily. Initially, I was happy that this set arrived sharp and ready to use. The size is great for full-length cuts, and the build feels solid and durable, which is ideal for heavy materials. These shears are noticeably heavier than my usual pair, and the blades are quite stiff out of the box. They also have a grab/slightly rough point in the middle of the sheer that should smooth out.There is not a built-in tension adjustment, which makes it harder to fine-tune them for smoother, more fluid cutting. They may work well for heavier-duty tasks, but for frequent use, the weight and stiffness could be a drawback depending on your workflow.

For someone who needs left-handed scissors infrequently, these generics are fine. But you’re getting what you are paying for: $27.If you do a lot of sewing or craftwork, invest in something better, especially if cutting through thicker fabric like denim. Came a bit oily on the inside blade and mechanism, but overall they are heavy and durable scissors that will cut through fabric and any clothy material, much better than household scissors. They are extremely useful for those kinds of tasks and even just a pleasure to use as your new “good” scissors in the house on a budget. Nice and sharp.

Mon conjoint est gaucher et s’est habitué à utiliser nos ciseaux de droitières. En essayant ceux-ci, au départ, il les trouvait bizarres : c’est fou à quel point on peut s’accommoder d’un UX qui n’est pas conçu pour nous, au point de devoir se « déshabituer » pour réussir à apprécier la qualité d’un outil adapté.Car oui, après quelques utilisations, il a fini par venir à la conclusion qu’ils lui convenaient beaucoup mieux. Ils sont un peu lourds, mais c’est souvent le cas pour ce type de ciseaux de couturier, destinées à couper aussi bien un tissu léger qu’un jeans. La coupe est droite et nette. On sent qu’on a un instrument de la meilleure qualité entre les mains! Le petit coupe-fil est aussi une belle addition.
