  1. Flat

    Heats up fast
This small iron is easy to use and has a heat temp setting that seems to be accurate. Works well and heats up super fast. Considering its size and build quality I am very happy with this iron.

  2. Levi

    Works well
    Works as it meant to

  3. Timmothy LaPlante

One Small Gripe, Otherwise Solid and Good Quality.
For the price, it’s pretty good. I would honestly give it five stars had the soldering iron hot end not be bent, making it more difficult to set the inserts perfectly aligned. The pros:Instructions are clear. Pictures are enough to get you through, the grammar really isn’t bad at all, though.Easy to set up.The bearing is solid, almost oversized (no complaints here), and it’s designed to be cheap, but rigid (best of both worlds)Soldering iron heats up QUICK. I was surprised how fast it heated up to 450⁰C, and I like that it shows the temperature as it heats up. Something my much more expensive Weller soldering station does. And the digital display is convenient.Insert tips are good. I’ve used the M3 and M5 so far, and while the M5 only has a nubby tip and not an extended, the M3 does and that helps. I like the convenience of the threaded press tips. On my old setup I had to swap out the entire tip to switch from, say, M3 to M5.The bad:Really just the slight bend on the hot end. It’s a nuisance, but not a deal breaker. This press is already so much more convenient and gives me cleaner finishes than what I had before and I can work around the slight misalignment. Worst case scenario, these pencil soldering irons are cheap to replace. And it’s most likely that it was a case of poor QC and not every soldering iron is shipped that way.

    Totally worth it
Excellent value. Bought this for some 3D printing projects and it’s perfect. Heats up quickly, too.

Fast delivery, Everything there, Looks good, Just what I wanted.
This is one of the few sets where the iron, adapters, and the inserts are provided as a nice starter kit, and at a good price. Perfect for 3d printing projects. Also some time ago the shipping was like 2-4 weeks, but since then, or at least when I ordered recently, shipping was 1 day shipping with prime. Iron Instructions, and spec holes parameters for the bushings would have been nice. Bright display. I have not actually used the iron yet, only verified that it is functional. Also included a protective silicon boot to put over the iron tip.I think figured the out the iron instructions:Turn on/off: hold red button for 5-10 secsChange C/F: double click red button.Set Temp: +/- buttons. Hold for fast scrolling, press for slow scrolling.C or F flashing indicates heating to temperature.

    Almost a great tool
It defi works great for what it is, however, I have a hard time with some of my more commonly used inserts sticking to the tool. It’s a little too tight of a fit and once I have the insert in place, it doesn’t always want to release. It also doesn’t have a stand, so you either have to make one or find a way to hold it when you’re waiting for it to heat up or between uses. It does heat up quickly though, and the adjustable temperature is a great feature.

  7. Andrew

Works great, wish the tips were labeled.
Pretty easy to use, which is good because I received no instructions. Would be nice if the tips were labeled but I printed a holder for them that labels them so I don’t have to hunt. Heats pretty quickly and setting temp is fairly intuitive.

  8. Austin

    Good purchase
Works great and heats up quick!

  9. Caleb Spencer

Works great and heats up super fast, I put heat press inserts in with no problem. Might take a few tries on your first few attempts

  10. Corina

This heat set insert tool is a must for professional looking results in 3d parts!I’m impressed with the quality. The base is solid, and once you tighten everything up it glides smooth and straight with very little wobble.Heats up quickly and it’s easy to set the temperature. It’s a bit annoying if you hold the temperature change button to speed up the numbers as it goes VERY fast, but once you’re aware of that it’s ok. It also remembers your setting for next time.Overall, I think it’s good quality for a good price. Does the job it’s suppose to and seems robust enough to last.
