Good game, could be improved with launching mechanism
This is a fun alternative to Connect 4 but I don’t see it replacing the original game anytime soon! It is certainly more luck based than anything else. If you’ve ever played the game Quarters, it has a similar vibe. I also believe that adding some sort of launching mechanism would have really improved gameplay since younger children may struggle to bounce the discs. If you struggle to bounce the discs you could always do a light toss on them instead. I think with how chaotic the game plays, it’s likely that pieces will get lost over time. It packs away and travels easily and the game itself feels sturdy.

We always love an afternoon of gaming and this has been a great addition to our collection. Really well made, sturdy and good quality pieces. Now this is a slight spin on the original connect 4 and bringa a new level of excitement and competition. we really enjoy it and thing its a great option for game night
Just My Thoughts –
I used to love Connect4 as a kid so was really excited to get this to play with our daughter who’s 6.The game has been updated to make it more interesting and fun to play, as you now have to bounce the counters into the slot you want, which is not as easy as it looks! This added excitement to the game and provided lots of giggles!Overall I think this seems good quality, seems to be priced suitably at the RRP, and we always have fun playing it, so it’s 5 stars from me!

This game feels like a more complex version of Tiddlywinks, with a goal similar to Connect 4 – get four in a row. However, the scoring isn’t limited to straight lines; you can also aim for four corners, four in the middle, or other creative patterns, which adds some variety. The plastic base is solid and the snap-on lid is a neat way of keeping all the counters together so cannot fault the build quality.That said, the gameplay can get a bit chaotic. The bounce-off-the-table mechanic feels clumsy and messy, especially when you have the suggested 4 to 6 players gathered around – you tend to end up with most of them on the floor and that is when the fun ceases. With so much luck involved, there isn’t much room for strategy. Perhaps a couple of extra colours would have helped for 3 or more players.Furthermore, I believe the game could really benefit from a more controlled way to launch the counters – something like a small catapult or flick mechanism like the ones shown in the photo; they have made a huge difference to gameplay. It adds a layer of skill and makes the experience far more engaging than just slamming counters onto the table. I think with the add-on it is nearer to a 5 star rating but for the game as it is, it just misses the mark in my opinion.

Many people have tried (and failed) to replicate it over the years, but you can’t beat the original in my opinion!In the box you get one Hasbro Gaming Connect 4 Frenzy grid with red and yellow discs, it’s essentially the classic Connect 4 but with a twist, both players bounce discs off the table into the grid at the same time. It also offers four different play modes including the standard 4‑in‑a‑row, corners only, centre only, or a more relaxed take‑turns version. The compact build means the discs can be stored in the grid and the cover snaps on for easy portability!It can be used for stuff like family games night, parties, travel entertainment or quick ice‑breaker rounds, and is suitable for anyone needing something that’s reliable but also fast‑paced and easy to learn for ages 8+.The quality of this genuinely seems quite good (as you would expect from Hasbro), and to be fair, I’ve had no major issues with it at all (I mean, so far, anyway).Ultimately, though, it honestly does seem pretty good, and in my opinion, it is good value for money if you’re in the market for something like this!

Fun and a bit wild, my family has really enjoyed playing this game!It’s suitable for all ages really, as long as they can bounce a counter, which is all you have to do. Simply split into 2 teams – one yellow, one red – and bounce your counters onto the table, so they land in the slots, and the first team to get 4 in a row is the winner. It is slightly different to the regular version of Connect 4, as you can also get counters in all 4 corners to win as well, or the center 4 slots.It gets a bit crazy, and I have to say, that sometimes the counters don’t bounce that great, and fall flat, or they seem to shoot off the table completely!I really like that it’s a simple concept though, no batteries needed, and when you’re finished, all the counters fit in the slots, and the lid snaps on securely, so storing it away is very easy.This will be something we play a lot, so I’d recommend.
